COMMUNITY AFFILIATE PARTNERSHIP “CAP”
CAP was designed to introduce a holistic family and community outreach approach to the families we serve. This comprehensive approach effectively blends the community with our partners. It is used to fulfill TPDS’s commitment to “changing the odds” for children and families facing adversity.
Partners provide goods to the community, information and referrals, educational, financial support, resources and volunteer services as well as socialization and housing services to those confronting economic challenges, mental health and education setbacks. Many also provide mentor-ship or peer support for families recovering from mental illnesses. They serve as global and local leaders in the support and development of consumer-run initiatives and primary prevention programs. Finally, affiliates strive to influence public policy at the local, state, and national level to assure access to fair and effective services for the thousands of Floridians suffering from economic adversities and mental health conditions.
